Delighted to speak to young Jewish people from across Europe this evening. A pleasure to be able to host the Forum for Jewish Leadership in Westminster. Wishing them every success for the duration of their programme.

Great to see so many people coming out today to make sure their voices are heard on the proposals. It was heartening to see so many people brave the weather and come together on this critical issue. You can submit your response to the plans at

I know residents are concerned about potential flooding Water levels due to peak in Radcliffe over the next hour 12noon to 1pm. They expect it to peak at 1.4m which is below the flood threshold of 1.68m so they expect Radcliffe will not be flooded. I will keep you all informed.

Horrendous news from Christchurch, my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. This barbaric attack on the Muslim community is an attack on us all.

For the Uk to leave the European Union. That’s why I voted against a 2nd referendum tonight and have consistently stated the result must be respected. However, it is bogus to imply they voted to leave without a deal or gave us a clear mandate on content of a withdrawal agreement.

Tonight I voted against a 2nd referendum for that reason! However, A50 extension is necessary because parliament does not support the PMs deal+significant majority rightly believe leaving without a deal would be very damaging to living standards and jobs of my constituents.

Tonight I voted against a 2nd referendum+to support short extension to Article 50. I also voted to enable Parliament to hold a series of votes which would indicate what deal could attract a parliamentary majority. Unfortunately, the Govt narrowly defeated this proposal.

It was her proposal, which is why there was a total break down of trust with the DUP.

Simply not true. The “backstop” was a Uk not EU proposal!

If you think we need to keep No deal as a negotiating card then that suggests the EU have been unreasonable. In fact, they have agreed 2 deals with the Uk PM. Both of which she knew were unlikely to get parliamentary support. The PM herself said this week EU were not to blame!

Baffled by your view. Why is Brexit contingent on leaving the EU without a deal? I respect the result of the referendum and do not support a 2nd referendum. However, I will fight for us to leave on a sensible basis which protects the living standards and jobs of my constituents.

I voted tonight to ensure we must leave EU with a deal. It is the overwhelming view of business that leaving without a deal would be a disaster for the living standards+jobs of my constituents. I also believe the ERG Tories strategy to engineer no deal had to be defeated.

I cannot support this deal - it fails to offer clarity about the future of jobs & living standards in my constituency. Common Market 2.0 proposals are the pragmatic Brexit which may secure a majority & respect the result of the referendum. FULL SPEECH:

1,400 paper signatures and counting to protest the closure of the Halifax bank in Radcliffe! The decision to close down the Radcliffe branch of Halifax would be devastating to local businesses and residents alike. Sign the online petition here :
