  Migration Updates

  Migration has been completed as of 2 meetings ago – I will mention this to keep everyone updated on the status.

  @juhise is going through the articles and marking them on the Google Sheet

  @atachibana is looking through the articles to check for broken links / really outdated content. As discussed (and later on in DM), a broken links plugin will be installed after the initial scan through.

  Design Updates

  As the relevant team members were not able to attend the meeting, the updates will be pushed to the next meeting.

  @tacoverdo mentioned that there might be a Docs section on Contributor Day and was given some info to start off getting contributors to help with documentation. The Contributor Day page for the Docs Team was later updated with relevant information. @wizzard_ volunteered to lead Docs efforts at WCNL‘s contributor day.

  Migration Updates

  While all articles have been noted as migrated on Google Sheet, as much of tthis was a collaborative effort, @ankitguptaindia & @juhise has been tasked to do a visual check on our staging site wphelphub.com. In addition, they will mark out articles that are in serious need of re-writing.

  The articles will also be checked for and appropriately marked in the Google sheet if the article requires more screenshots.

  Design Updates

  As none from the design team was around, we will hear back from them next meeting

  Development Updates

  @atachibana created a ticket that affects not just Helphub, but likely DevHub and other documentation based systems. The ticket suggests that end users should be able to see revisions via the front end (similar to how Codex works). This would enable translators and other contributors to know what has changed if they do not have access to the back end.

  Open Floor

  A question was asked if members of the Helphub team would be at WordCamp Netherlands. It was followed up with a possibility that some of us will be at WordCamp US. The Helphub Team (whoever will be present at WCUS’s contributor day) will join the rest of the Docs Team and work on our tasks.

  @Kenshino will engage team members in DMs to reconnect and get the meetings on track again.

  Docs-focused Bug Scrub Friday 

  We’ll have a docs-focused bug scrub Friday, Oct. 7 2016 14:00 CDT in the #docs Slack channel, for anyone interested in contributing. We’ll focus on the needs-docs keyword first, then on the docs focus if there’s time.

  Migration Updates

  @ankitguptaindia has completed migration of all ‘abandoned’ articles.

  After some discussion, a decision was made to drop articles that are similar to https://codex.wordpress.org/Styling_Lists_with_CSS as it was pretty much a generic css guide.

  @normalize is checking into articles’ formatting.

  In the cases where CSS code is provided, screenshots should be used instead of trying to generate an actual css display (css results might vary on different browsers).

  Lastly, code that are present on Helphub should ideally be able to be directly copy and pasted for use by normal end users.

  Design Updates

  As none from the design team was around, we will hear back from them next meeting

  Development Updates

  @bravokeyl will follow up on the issues that he is assigned

  A discussion on how the Contributor tracking would be implemented, a meta field array was agreed upon and @jon_bossenger was tasked to look into how we could make the additions of new contributors a better experience via the use of some AJAX

  @Kenshino also implemented proper styles for the jQuery UI Calendar for WP_Versions CPT. The JS initialisation for it has also been updated to allow month and year changes. So far, the code has been pushed to wphelphub.com but has yet to be merged on Github.

  So sorry, I have been away for the last 2-3 weeks on WordCamp Singapore and WordCamp Tokyo.

  Migration Updates

   

  Article Migration is almost complete. We need to comb through articles and ensure that the articles are relevant and up to date. If you have already checked links and updated the content so that it is relevant, thank you. If not, please do when you get a chance.

  @normalize reminded everyone that we should be checking all the links in our articles to ensure that the links are still alive and relevant.

  Design Updates

  We will swing back around on the design topic next meetup. @greensteph is working on a contributor layout and @jon_bossenger is handling the issue on GH at https://github.com/Kenshino/HelpHub/issues/49.

  Project Discussions

  This portion is taken from the summaries from the last meetup but I feel that it is important that we keep the following visible.

  @greensteph will lead the effort with the migrators to cut down on the uncontrolled use of categorising topics. We started off with 6 broad terms as categories and would like to move back towards that direction.

  The terms should preferably be closely tied towards the forums structure. Such that when one searches for an Installation topic but cannot find any relevant one, they will be prompted to go to the Installation forum.

  The Support Team will work closely with the Helphub team on making this happen in a meaningful manner.
